Ebury Gate Development, Morrow + Lorraine refurbishment for Grosvenor West End Properties

Project case study

Ebury Gate Development

Waterproofing design consultant for the Ebury Gate Development, a commercial refurbishment for Grosvenor West End Properties with a retained basement and new buried deck areas.

Ebury Gate is a refurbishment of an existing commercial building for Grosvenor West End Properties, with Morrow + Lorraine as architect, Elliott Wood Partnership as structural engineer and Opera PM as project manager. CLW was commissioned as the waterproofing design consultant.

The scheme retains the existing basement and creates new buried deck areas through façade relocation, a combination that splits the waterproofing problem in two: an existing structure whose condition has to be assessed as found, and new buried construction that can be designed from first principles. The design specifies Type A, Type B and Type C protections to achieve Grade 3 and Grade 1b performance across the development.

CLW worked closely with the design team, including Morrow + Lorraine and Elliott Wood Partnership, to provide a clear and efficient waterproofing design, with the system selection for the retained and new elements resolved as one coherent strategy rather than two separate specifications.
