College Ln - gated residential development waterproofing scheme

Project case study

College Ln

Waterproofing design for a gated development of 40 homes set below surrounding ground level, combining Type A, Type B and Type C systems across retaining walls, light wells and podium decks.

College Ln is a gated development of 40 homes that encompasses numerous waterproofing details. The whole site sits lower than the surrounding ground level, so substantial retaining walls run across the scheme, in some areas forming the walls of the homes themselves. There are also retaining walls to light wells and a number of podium decks. CLW provided the waterproofing design for Four Quarters Construction.

The strategy combined Type A bentonite membrane to the exterior, Type B watertight concrete and Type C internal cavity drain membrane, supported by sub-surface drainage, so that each below-ground condition across the site was addressed with an appropriate system.
